Stitching detail for the inner flap of the Noloben bag.

The tree symbol was done in the new DMC metallic embroidery floss called, "Antique Effects." Like most metallic threads, it splits and shreds easily. I used a couching stitch instead of an outline stitch to minimize this issue.

Beads are opaque black Czech cut glass. I liked the squarish shape better than a round bead for this design.

The waves were quilted with a Sulky metallic thread. It was a dream to work with! It didn't stretch out with the friction of stitching or the heat of my hand, and there was virtually no shredding or tangling. The color and shine it adds is wonderful!

Stunningly amazing, you and your craftiness, Derbs! Haha! Is there anything you can't do? :D

There are whole oceans of things I can't do. But I like to focus on the fun things I have a chance at making work. To me sewing = goodness.

My grandma started it all with embroidery kits when I was six. I suspect she was just trying to get me to sit still for a reasonable length of time.

Made me laugh out loud.

Macro shots can be awesome. This one... not so much. It's merely okayish I think. I needs to find me a good local photographer!

How is your garden growing by the way?

My Garden Age is still in progress. Thank you for asking!!

It seems to be trying to go back to "au-naturel". But I'm fighting to keep my pathways clear of huckleberry bushes, dandelions, berry vines and salal bushes.

But my trees are doing quite well. Need to figure out some new Myst lighting that won't corrode in the damp, Northwest air. The solar light balls leaked too much and never charged properly.

But it is an ongoing journey worth taking!!

Keeping a garden Age in pristine condition is a hard task for a single gardener. It's a good thing that you love the gardening.

I love your work, Derbs. Stitching and sewing are a mystery to me.

Your Noloben bag is such a beautiful (and useful) craft! Thanks for the details. :)
